Claire Winkles was born and raised in Charleston, S.C. and has always been a loving member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Baptized and confirmed here, she has spent her life surrounded and supported by many current members of our church. She attended WPC Pre-school and had many current members as her Sunday School Teachers and Directors of Children and Youth before now. Prior to being Westminster’s DCYM she graduated from College of Charleston with a degree in Early Childhood Education, which led her to being a 1st grade teacher for 5 years. She accepted the call to be Westminster’s Director of Children and Youth in the summer of 2023 and has fallen in love with this role. Claire’s gifts, faith, and desire to share the stories of Jesus and foster belief in children and youth are the reasons she feels called to serve at Westminster. She has loved God’s children and youth by example within the classroom and has felt that this calling allows her not only to love God’s children and youth by example, but also to share the stories of Jesus as the greatest example for them to follow.
