A Festival of Readings and Carols for Advent and Christmas.

Carols from a variety of traditions (English, Moravian, German, Canadian French, Early American, Appalachian, and Swedish), arranged by Michael Burkhardt, are brought together with poems by American writer-liturgist Ann Weems, as a means for God’s people to revisit the story and message of Advent and Christmas anew. The composer hopes “that these carol and hymn settings and readings will encourage all of us to ‘go to Bethlehem and find our kneeling places’ time and time again.”

Kneeling in Bethlehem will be presented by the Westminster Sanctuary Choir, with handbells, strings and organ during the morning worship service.
