It’s all very different this year, isn’t it? Missing out on the annual Westminster Oyster Roast! Modified gatherings (or no gatherings!) with friends and family on Thursday! Planning Advent and Christmas worship without congregational singing!
As I write, I’m struck by the notion that Covid has been a big inconvenience for me, but it has not been overwhelming. Maybe it’s the same for you.
If you find yourself living a little above the devastation, then how can you respond? First, let’s give thanks. It is by the grace of God. And second, seek out ways to lift up the ones more affected than you. A kind note to someone struggling with isolation. An extra generous tip when you have the chance. Participate in Angel Tree giving or shopping. Call a grieving friend who is facing the holidays with extra sadness. There are countless ways to reach out.
We have the chance today and every day to make this thing about us or see in it an opportunity to shine!
Shine on, brothers and sisters!
