“And going into the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him.”- Matthew 2:11

How did you come to faith in Jesus Christ?
When the wise men came to meet Jesus they were transformed.  They arrived after a long journey with weird gifts for a baby found in a manger.  Can you imagine their thoughts?  They had done their homework and were ready for the journey, but could have never imagined what they would have found once they encountered God incarnate.
Life is like that sometimes.  We can prepare our minds, our calendars, etc. for all kinds of things, but we can’t fully prepare our hearts.  It is in the “heart” moments we become transformed in life, in love, and in faith.  Holy moments like meeting the Prince of Peace, the Son of God, the Messiah for the first time transform us whether we realize it at that moment or even years later.
Sunday I asked for a favor from the congregation.  I want to hear your stories on how you came to faith in Jesus Christ.  You can email me, call me or better yet let’s set up a time to talk.  Maybe your story is a person, a moment, a season of life?  Maybe your story isn’t yet clear and you’d like to talk about how you are seeking to come to faith in Jesus Christ instead?  I’m thankful for the stories which have already been shared and can’t wait to hear more throughout the year.  There isn’t a deadline, so no rush.  Just whenever you feel ready to share.  I’m pretty sure it took the wise men some time to process their journey as well.
My prayer for all of us is for our hearts to open wide to Christ’s light and joy this year.
In Christ’s Service,
Pastor Lissa
