This Thursday, we have the opportunity to gather with fellow Charlestonians for a viewing of “Backs Against the Wall: The Howard Thurman Story.” It’s a film about one of foundational figures of the Civil Rights Era, someone upon whose shoulders Martin Luther King, Jr. stood.
In these days of division and discord it is a welcomed opportunity to learn of those who labored for unity in their day and continue to have lessons for us.
A FREE community screening is presented in the Sanctuary of Second Presbyterian followed by a panel discussion moderated by filmmaker Martin Doblmeier.
