“Greet all God’s people in Christ Jesus. The brothers and sisters who are with me send greetings. All God’s people here send you greetings”-Philippians 4:21-22
Pictures like this one of our friends from Westminster and our friends from Coban, Guatemala are wonderful reminders of living the Gospel. Each of the people pictured here have a story. They have stories of family and friends who have helped them know the love of God, equipped them to participate in the work of the Holy Spirit, and lifted them in prayer. Then there are those not pictured, but in the background encouraging the group to smile. They have a story. Then there are those who are in the buildings and fields beyond this one who are working together to help their community, church and a the development of a new school. They have a story. Then there are those of us, excited to hear those stories from Coban and how our partnership with Antioch Presbyterian Church in Guatemala, who are home and have stories as well. Stories of how we have been brought together as family, adopted into the faith by God through Jesus Christ.
Paul reminds us in his letters to send greetings (receiving of one another joyfully, welcoming one another) in the name of Jesus Christ are encouraging for us in our day to day living. How can we live the Gospel out loud? We can meet one another! We can listen to one another! We can serve with one another! We can greet one another!
As you move about your week, enjoy the Gospel living you get to do. Celebrate sharing greetings in the name of Jesus Christ.
