“He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty.”
– The Apostles’ Creed
We declared our faith with these words on Easter morning. We’ll declare our faith with these words this coming Sunday. We say it so many times, it is easy to put the lips on autopilot and cruise right through the creed without thinking about the meaning.
So, what does it mean for Jesus to ascend into heaven and sit at God’s right hand? That’s the question we’ll take up this week as we conclude our study of Luke’s Gospel and look into the opening verses of the second part of Luke’s writing, the book of Acts.
More that just an event that happened close to 2000 years ago, the ascension of Jesus has meaning for us today. Every day we are alive, the ascension matters.
I look forward to seeing you Sunday,
