For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1
It is hard for me to believe it is 2018! This past year has flown by for me, and I bet it has done the same for you.
Ecclesiastes reminds us that there is a time for everything, and as I look back over the past year, I know it’s true. As your pastor, I know that 2017 brought both challenges blessings, but the Lord has been with us through it all. (That’s a promise Ecclesiastes makes.)
I encourage you to look over the last year, thinking of how you have seen the Lord working in and through your life. Do you feel closer to him now than you did a year ago? How about more distant? Why do you think that is?
I invite you to consider how you can make the Lord a more real part of your life in the coming year. It could be spending time reading the Bible; it might be more prayer, worship, or service. Whatever it is, I promise this: if you seek the Lord, desiring to grow in him, it will happen. God’s desire is to draw us closer, filling us with the assurance of his love in our lives.
I look forward to growing in the Lord with you in 2018.
