My son Andrew recently earned his driver’s permit, and I have enjoyed having him drive me around the neighborhood. He’s a pretty good driver!
I’ve learned something about myself in the process, though. While he’s learning, I’m more acutely aware of my own driving habits and the things he might learn from my example. (Maybe I speed a little and have been known for “rolling stops” at some intersections in the neighborhood- things like that!) I’m glad to say I am becoming a better and safer driver now that I know he’s watching my every move.
They say kids learn by imitation, and frankly, if I want Andrew to be a better driver than me, I need to make some changes.
Surely it is true for more than just driving.
See you (and your kids) Sunday,
Pastor Daniel
