To celebrate the upcoming 500th anniversary of the beginning of the Protestant Reformation, this Sunday, I’ll begin a 5 part sermon series on our Reformed heritage. Theologically, the core marks of the Reformed Tradition are often summarize using 5 mottos: Scripture Alone; Christ Alone, Grace Alone, Faith Alone, and God Alone be Glorified.
We’ll start his week with Sola Scriptura (that’s the Latin), exploring the role the Bible plays in our understanding of God, ourselves, and the world at large. John Calvin, our Presbyterian forebear, described Scripture as the glasses we put on when we want to see clearly. Especially in this day and age- with division, fear, and even what we’ve witnessed in Las Vegas, we need help. God has given us the gift of Scripture to be our authority in all things.
Join us Sunday to praise God and dig deeper into the good theology of our heritage.
Yours in Christ,
