Amy and I decided to take a quick trip to Thomasville, Georgia for a few days this week. We lived in Thomasville from 2000-2008 when I was the Associate Pastor at First Presbyterian.
It was an eventful 8 years- Andrew and Lauren were born and baptized in Thomasville, and I’m thankful for such a good church to nurture me in the beginning years of ministry.
We’d been wanting to visit for a while- to see what memories Andrew and Lauren have (they were 5 and 3 when we moved), and to see how things have changed since we’ve been away.
As we retraced those years and told stories to the kids, this verse from Jeremiah kept coming to mind:
“Set up road signs; put up guideposts. Take note of the highway, the road that you take.” Jeremiah 31:21
Taking a moment to look back over that part of our lives has reminded us of God’s faithfulness. God is good, and he walks with us every step of the way.
I’m so grateful to serve a God who travels with us.
Giving thanks with and for you,
