I can hardly believe that it is almost December already. In just a few short weeks, we will be celebrating the birth of our Lord.
When the prophet Isaiah was around in Old Testament times, he foretold of one who was to come who would be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. I’m preaching about those names of Jesus on Sunday mornings during Advent. Of all the titles that Isaiah uses, however, my favorite is Emmanuel. (Is. 7:14)
Jesus Christ is our Emmanuel- translated, that means he is God with us.
As we enter into this season of Advent, I want to remind you that God is indeed with us. In every step we take of each day, we have the assurance that the Lord is with us.
So in all our celebrating this Christmas season, let one thing be certain: God is indeed with us.
